Cleaning and Maintenance of the ReadyPure system.
Q. What is ReadyPure?
top
A. ReadyPure is an onsite bottled water system that produces pure drinking water utilizing reverse osmosis technology. The unique ReadyPure design allows the water to be stored in an ordinary 5 gallon water bottle atop any water cooler. You can see what you are drinking.
Q. What's the problem with bottled water?
top
A. The most obvious problem with bottled water is the inconvenience of lifting, replacing, and storing all of those heavy bottles. There is also the high cost - as much as $1.59 per gallon. Finally, when the bottles are changed the neck of the bottled is rarely sanitized, nor are the person's hands changing the bottle, therefore whatever is on the neck or on the bottle changer's hands is now in your water storage tank. When was the last time you saw the bottled water company come and clean or sanitize a bottled water cooler?
Q. Where does bottled water come from?
top
A. Bottled water is frequently filtered tap water, or it comes from other sources such as wells or springs. Most bottled water is filtered at the bottling plant and sealed into bottles. Bottled water is not necessarily safer than tap water, as it sits at room temperature in bottles for indefinite periods, which can result in bacteria growth over time.
Q. Why does bottled water cost so much?
top
A. Bottled water goes through many steps before it is ever consumed. Factors such as expensive filtration and bottling equipment, packaging, advertising, distribution, transportation, fuel, and labor costs all come together in the pricing. These are some of the things that you pay for when you purchase bottled water.
COSTS
Q. What does it cost?
top
A. Just $39.95 per month. One easy payment per month. You will always know what to expect and you won't have to manage an inventory. All service and maintenance is included.
We offer a full quotation without any obligation. No cleaning costs, no filter charges, no bottle deposits, just one easy monthly payment. Our Risk-Free 30-day Trial Offer allows you to try out ReadyPure for a full month before making any financial commitment.
Q. What is my break-even point for delivered water?
top
A. If you use one and one half 5-gallon bottles per week, we will save you money.
Q. How can you offer such a comparatively low price if your service is an upgrade to delivered bottled water?
top
A. Bottled water goes through many steps before it is ever consumed. Factors such as expensive water treatment plants and bottling equipment, packaging, advertising, distribution, transportation, fuel, and labor costs all come together in the pricing. These are some of the things that you pay for when you purchase bottled water. The end result is the customer pays higher prices for water.
Q. Do I have to sign a long-term lease?
top
A. No. We have month-to-month as well as annual rental plans available.
REGULATION
Q. How is the bottled water industry regulated?
top
A. The bottled water industry is regulated by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). However, if water is bottled and sold within the same state, it is not subject to FDA regulations. Bottled water is also not subject to EPA standards like municipal water. It is legal to bottle water from wells, springs and even public tap water which means you could actually be carrying home water containing the same quality that comes out of your faucet. A test by the Suffolk County, New York Health Dept. found that 9 of 88 brands of bottled water tested failed to meet State and Federal drinking water standards. You'll notice that sometimes you can even taste and smell plastic in bottled water if it has been left at all in the sun.
Q. What processing methods does the CDC recommend for bottled water?
top
A. The Center for Disease Control recommends multi-barrier processing methods, like reverse osmosis and micron filtration, for effective water treatment and to ensure the removal of chemical and microbiological contaminants, including Cryptosporidium.
PURITY
Q. How pure is Tap Water?
top
A. American Tap Water is one of the best, safest drinking waters in the World. The regulations for drinking water from approved public water supplies such as the San Antonio Water System are much more stringent than for mineral and spring water. To help achieve this, tap water is chlorinated which is why the water sometimes has an odor and odd taste to it. However, many people are turned off by the aftertaste that comes from some chlorinated tap water. And, many now worry about the threat of lead, chemicals or microorganisms in some public water systems. With ReadyPure water, you don't have any of those concerns.
Q. Is bottled water merely tap water in a bottle?
top
A. Some bottled water companies do use municipal sources. Prior to bottling, water sourced from municipal water sources undergoes filtration to remove the chlorine and other volatile organic compounds that may be found in tap water. The label must state the source of the water (spring, well, municipal supply, etc.).
Q. Can bottled water be manufactured from tap water?
top
A. Yes, bottled water can be manufactured from tap water. Some bottled water, such as demineralized water or distilled water, is simply tap water that has undergone a process to lower the mineral content and to remove chemicals such as chlorine.
Q. What is artesian well water?
top
A. According to the FDA, artesian water is bottled water from a well that taps a confined aquifer (a water-bearing underground layer of rock or sand) in which the water level stands at some height above the top of the aquifer. Unlike a spring, it does not naturally emerge to the surface.
Q. What is distilled water?
top
A. Distilled water is purified water that has gone through a distillation process, which involves vaporizing water to remove any contaminants then cooling the vapor back to liquid state.
Q. What is drinking water?
top
A. Drinking water is water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or other processes as allowed by the FDA and is sealed in containers with no added ingredients except that it may contain safe and suitable antimicrobial agents.
Q. What is hard water?
top
A. The term hardness refers to the quantity of dissolved calcium and magnesium in water. These minerals, which come primarily from limestone type rock formations, are found to some degree in almost all natural waters. Calcium and magnesium cause problems for two principal reasons:·
When the water is warmed, they precipitate out of solution and form a hard, rock-like scale. This scale accelerates corrosion, restricts flow, and reduces heat transfer in water heaters. ·
It will always have the potential to have particles suspended in it, which can produce an unsightly appearance as well as an undesirable taste.
Q. What is mineral water?
top
A. According to the FDA, bottled water containing not less than 250 parts per million total dissolved solids (TDS) may be labeled as mineral water.
Q. What is purified water?
top
A. According to the FDA, water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or other suitable processes may be labeled as purified bottled water.
Q. What is spring water?
top
A. Spring Water means water derived from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth.
Q. What types of water do you offer?
top
A. ReadyPure water is purified water. It's the perfect choice if you prefer mineral-free water.
Q. How is water purified?
top
A. We follow a multi-step purification process to ensure the great, pure taste of ReadyPure drinking water. The steps include micron sediment and carbon filtration and reverse osmosis. Through these steps, we end up with a purified product. Stored in a sanitized and sterilized bottle, your ReadyPure drinking water is completely pure. You can see the purity in the bottle.
Q. What is the difference between purified and distilled water?
top
A. Purified and distilled water are essentially the same product -- water in its purest form with essentially all the minerals removed. The difference is in the process used to remove the minerals. Distillation involves a heating process that converts water into steam, leaving the minerals or impurities behind. Water processed by this method is called distilled water. However, the same result can be achieved by using reverse osmosis, and water processed by these methods is called purified water.
Q. How does ReadyPure drinking water differ from tap water?
top
A. Normally, tap water is processed differently. It is chlorinated and filtered, but it does not pass through purification systems such as reverse osmosis. Also, almost all tap water is chlorinated to kill bacteria, and the mineral levels in tap water are typically much higher than those in ReadyPure water.
Q. What is the difference between ReadyPure drinking water and spring water?
top
A. The fresh, clean taste of our drinking water comes from the process of removing 99.99% of all contaminants, leaving only pure H2O.
Q. Are there any additives in your water?
top
A. There are no artificial additives of any kind in ReadyPure drinking water.
Q. Does bottled water have any calories?
top
A. No - that's one reason why so many active, healthy people enjoy the natural refreshment of water.
Q. Does your water contain carbohydrates?
top
A. No.
Q. Is there sodium in bottled water?
top
A. ReadyPure water is sodium-free. The FDA considers any water containing less than 5 mg. of sodium per 8 oz. serving to be sodium-free.
Q. Is there fluoride in ReadyPure water?
top
A. No.
Q. How do you know your water is safe and free from harmful chemicals and/or bacteria?
top
A. Our quality assurance programs are comprehensive and include standards for every ReadyPure system that leaves our manufacturing facility.
Q. I have a filter at home and it tastes bad. How do I know yours doesn't taste bad too?
top
A. Consumer-level purification systems are typically single stage devices used to remove most of the taste and odor from the water. Our purification system uses the same multi-stage filtration process used by bottle water companies to produce the water that they sell in bottles. Similar to how computers have shrunk down from the size of a room to the size of notebook, we've basically reduced the size of a water purification and bottling facility to the size of a water cooler. To ensure the taste and purity of the water will be maintained, filter changes are performed proactively and the taste and purity of our water is guaranteed.
Q. How do I know my employees will like the water?
top
A. Let us place a ReadyPure system is your office on a 30-Day Risk-Free trial basis with no obligation. This is the easiest way that we can demonstrate to you that we have the highest quality, best tasting water in the industry. ReadyPure account managers will be happy to set up your free trial.
Q. How will I know the water quality will stay the same over a period of time?
top
A. We guarantee that your taste and purity will remain constant throughout the entire time you enjoy our service. ReadyPure water is produced by state of the art equipment that we are committted to maintaining beyond your satisfaction.
Q. Can I develop a vitamin or mineral deficiency from drinking pure water with no
minerals?
top
A. No. Unfortunately your body cannot absorb the calcium in water, as it is not organic calcium, the type found in milk for example.
Inorganic calcium just goes straight through. So drinking calcium enriched water for health is just a waste of time.
Potassium, sulphate, and chloride in water are also inorganic and cannot be absorbed.
We already have too much salt in our diet and drinking it diluted in water can contribute to the development of hypertension. If you're on a low salt diet, then probably all mineral waters should be avoided unless very low in sodium. However, the body can absorb some of the dissolved minerals, metals and solvents in water. Unfortunately they are not good for you!
Magnesium is a metal, which can be absorbed from drinking water. In excess, magnesium causes gastric irritation.
Lead is a poison, and though found in very low quantities, it can inhibit intelligence and cause brain damage in children.
Aluminum has been linked with Alzheimer's disease. Nitrates, from fertilizers spread on crops, can cause what is known as Blue Baby Syndrome.
Trihalomethanes are carcinogenic. Benzene can cause increased risk of Leukemia.
All of these have been found in varying amounts in mineral waters.
Mineral water also contains dissolved solids and sometimes bacteria, which can cause gastric irritation.
CONSUMPTION
Q. How much water should you drink per day?
top
A. Experts recommend that you should drink eight, 8-ounce servings of water each day. If you are active or the weather is warm, drink an additional one to two servings to stay hydrated.
Q. How much drinking water should I allow for employees?
top
A. As a starting point ReadyPure suggests allowing 48 oz (1.5 quarts) per employee per day but you should refine this for your own situation.
Q. How much drinking water can be filtered by ReadyPure system?
top
A. Each ReadyPure system will produce 5 gallons of pure refreshing water each day. Apart from output capacity, there may be many factors affecting your decision on how many ReadyPure to use such as average walking distance to the water cooler or special needs of staff, pupils, customers or patients.
Q. On a Diet?
top
A. Studies have shown that dieters frequently mistake the desire for water as hunger pangs. Dieters have found that even one glass of water reduces the hunger pangs and drinking water has helped them to reduce their food intake.
Q. How much bottled water do people drink in the U.S.?
top
A. In 2001, per capita consumption measured 18.2 gallons and it's gaining all the time. From 2000 to 2001, the U.S. bottled water market grew 18.4% to a total of 5.43 billion gallons of water annually. This is a dramatic difference compared to the growth of other beverage categories (beer 0.6%, soft drinks .5%, and fruit drinks 0.4%). Total bottled water industry sales have more than doubled since 1992 (from $2.7 billion to $6.5 billion).
INSTALLATION
Q. How is it installed?
top
A. We connect a small but very durable flexible tube from your nearest water source (usually beneath a sink) to the preferred location of your cooler. In cases where the water coolers are not located in the kitchen, we'll run the water line over the dropped ceilings and down inside the wall. We'll then cut a small hole in the wall behind the cooler, cover it with a wall plate, install a shut-off valve and connect the water line to the back of the cooler. This process does not involve major plumbing and does not leave any visual alterations to your place of business. Our professional installers take care of everything for you and we guarantee 100% satisfaction on your installation. If you have any questions regarding an installation we will be happy to send out a representative to your location for a consultation free of charge or obligation.
Q. How much does it cost to install a ReadyPure system?
top
A. Installation is a one-time fee of $149.00. We plumb the purification system to your existing drinking water tap using food-grade connections. Don't worry if the nearest sink is a long way from where you want the cooler. We will survey the location and provide you with a quotation in advance for any additional work. It normally takes our professional installers less than an hour to install and flush through the machine ready for use.
Q. Is there any chance of drain water back-flowing my water?
top
A. No. All our installations have a non-return valve fitted to the system to ensure full protection against water back flow.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Q. How often does my cooler need to be cleaned?
top
A. Your bottled water cooler is virtually maintenance free - always ready to provide clean, refreshing bottled water at the press of a button. To be sure it stays in proper working order a ReadyPure representative will visit your location for basic care, cleaning and sanitizing, and periodic maintenance. There are no charges for materials or labor. Additionally, you should regularly clean the outside of Water Machines to remove dirty splashes, empty the drip tray and ensure the taps are kept hygienic.
Q. How can I tell if my water filter needs to be replaced?
top
